REVIEW-Smart Weigh TOP2KG Digital Pro Pocket Scale

Smart Weigh TOP2KG Digital Pro Pocket Scale with Tare, Hold and PCS Functions 2000 x 0.1g

Review

This little pocket scale packs a huge punch! It has tons of features and at first I was sceptical that it would preform as good as a bigger scale, but I was pleasantly surprised! I actually liked that it was smaller! It takes up a lot less space and would be easy to bring with me if I wanted to. "Pocket" size is pretty accurate. Its only 6.5" in the box! And only 5" out of the box!

And guess what else is included! Ya! Batteries! Shocker right!
Now, I do have to say it would be nice to have an alternative power source, but then again it saves electricity and makes it truly portable this way. Plus, its not something I use every single day so its actually nice to not have to fight with cords!
It only takes up a small amount of space in my kitchen drawer+*****!
This is a huge deal to me! I hate having to store my "extra" cooking tools on top my cabinets because there's not room anywhere else! One less thing I need the step stool for.
So what do I use this little thing for you ask?
Well, you know when your making rice krispies and it calls for 10 Oz's of marshmallows and you have a 16oz bag?! I'm always having to guess! Now I dont have to! Just whip this little firecracker out and bam!
It's also fantastic for other uses outside of the kitchen. Such as weighing things for shipping or packaging. It is small, so it does have limits, but it also has 2 covers you can put on it to help expand the weighing surface.
How about for making soap? Or candles? How about for making that perfect burger every time! Mmmmm yes!
Or for making sure you have just the right amount of fruit for that new recipe.
It also has many different units to choose from (ounces, grams, and about 10 other fancy options I have no idea how to use!)
And do you see this display! Its bold and bright! You can actually SEE it unlike some ive used!

And for those crafter's and small business owners out there this is perfect for figuring out how many ounces or grams are in the packages your selling. It also has a cool counting feature, which I don't fully understand, but sounds cool. Basically it counts how many items are on there (I think?:/)
Anyway, long story short, this little scale is awesome! And whether you're looking for a unique gift for that "foodie" you know or that crafty autrapanuer out there look no further!
Oh ya! Did I mention how fast the shipping is!? And that you can order it on Amazon!?
Ya, sweet! Just click HERE or click on the picture below to snag your own!
I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Frozen Chicken Genius

We are all about saving a buck at our place! Which means we wait until meat is at it's lowest and then stock up! We recently stocked up on Chicken Breasts. We usually buy from the butcher counter because its not only fresher but it is usually cheaper than the frozen or pre packaged kind. You can get it wrapped in whatever weight increment you want but my husband has come up with a GENIUS idea to make freezing, storing& thawing a LOT easier! It's so genius I had to share!
It's simple:
Wrap each piece of chicken in plastic wrap (we used a high quality restaurant plastic wrap from Sam's Club but not sure if it has to be the high temp/low temp tolerant kind or not? try and see!) then layer into a gallon bag!
We butterfly and cut off the fat before doing this, but you don't have to. This process also makes portioning into 10 different bags a thing of the past! And it saves $ on gallon bags because you can throw them all into one bag and then just pop however many you need out of the bag! And sense they're individually wrapped I don't see why you couldn't reuse the gallon bag too saving even more $!
The plastic wrap also seems to keep the chicken fresher and doesn't get freezer burn as easily. Win all around!

Doughnut Holes

So I have really been wanting to make glazed doughnut holes and I figured "how hard can it be" right?! So I search for a recipe. I found cinnamon/sugar ones, chocolate covered, even lemon glazed! But no reg glazed. SO I found a good glaze recipe that was for cupcakes (it worked out great!) and set out to make them! So problem 1: It takes FOREVER to make dough! At least when I try and do it!:/ So I gave up on that and instead found some pre-made pizza crust dough (and some quick pretzel dough but I haven't tried that)! The Pillsbury pizza dough in the can thing worked perfect!! I just rolled them into tiny balls and threw them in some hot vegetable oil in a pan (med heat) and you've got donuts all ready to coat! If you make bigger balls flatten them and they will rise/round up in he pan & cook more even! If not you will have raw dough in the middle FYI! So just use a spoon with holes and pull them out when they are golden onto a plate. Then coat them in glaze (let glaze harden) then you can put another coat of glaze if you like! Let glaze harden again and you're good to eat! If you prefer powdered sugar or cinnamon & sugar coating then just do that instead of glaze. If they cool a little before you coat them that's fine they will still coat beautifully! Maybe even better! Anyway, I will attach pictures and the glaze recipe when I get to it! Just thought I'd share my experience! Oh, I also added a note for my hubby that said, " DOUGHNUT you know I love you a HOLE bunch" too:)
I think I have pictures somewhere....
