Canning Jar Trick

You know when you take out that amazing jar of jam or other delicious canned item and then put the ring with the lid back on and the next time you get it out it sticks to the jar and you have to try and pry it off!? Yaaaa, not my favorite thing either! I always make a big mess!:p
Well, my mother in-law shared a great tip to keep the lid from sticking/sealing shut!

It's as simple as flipping the lid upside down!

Now why didn't I think of that!?
When I took her jam out to use it I just thought someone made a mistake, but was informed that is was a brilliant way to save me a LOT of cursing because I flipped jam all over! (Admit it! You've done it before!) :)

So there you have it! Flip the lid once you've opened your canned items and save yourself some frustration!:)

Indoor hop scotch!

Our winter bored buster! Masking tape or painters tape on the carpet or floor to make hop scotch indoors!

Thanksgiving

Thought I'd share a little Thanksgiving yumminess!

All we do for our turkey is mix softened butter (I used 3 sticks but 2 is plenty) and mix in spices with your butter like salt, pepper, garlic powder, sage, rosemary and whatever else you feel like. Then just grab a handful and shove under the skin of the turkey and on top. Then shove into a turkey bag and follow bag instructions.
We used a large electric crockpot type thing to bake our turkey which only take like 2.5-3 hrs to cook!
Then add 1/4 cup flour to each cup of turkey broth and you have a yummy gravy!
My bro and sis in-law brought the BEST green bean  casserole EVER too!

We had some family over and just enjoyed some yummy food and great company!

I'd love to see what yummy things you made this year!
